1. What materials are currently in the Online Library?
The Online Library contains downloadable articles from the Journal of the Air & Waste Management Association, EM magazine, and a range of A&WMA conference proceedings. Please see the table on the About page for publication years available.
The Online Library also includes hundreds of technical environmental books and CD-ROMs listed in the A&WMA Publications Catalog.
2. How often is new material added to the Library?
Articles from the Journal and EM will be added monthly; articles from conference proceedings will be added as they become available.
3. What are the “Books & CD-ROMs” links in the left navigation bar?
The categories listed under “Books & CD-ROMS” provide another means for quickly locating books or CD-ROMs (but not downloadable papers) within the Online Library. This will likely be most helpful to those who are already familiar with the categories used in the A&WMA Publications Catalog and in the former Online Bookstore. Please note, however, that all Books/CDs in these categories are part of the entire Online Library and can be found by performing a simple search.
4. How much does it cost to download an article?
A&WMA members have free access to all EM and Journal articles, and pay $5 per downloaded proceedings article. All articles in the Library are free to student members.
The cost for nonmembers is $15 per download for all articles in the Library.
5. Are there any restrictions on how I can use a downloaded article?Yes. All materials in the A&WMA Online Library are fully protected under the copyright laws of the United States of America and can only be downloaded and/or printed out for private, personal use. Users of the Online Library may not make or distribute copies of articles, in print or electronic form, including posting on other servers, without explicit permission from the Air & Waste Management Association.
For copyright questions and permissions requests, please contact A&WMA Headquarters: onlinelibrary@awma.org; +1-412-907-6027.
6. Do I need to log in to use the Library?Although you do not need to log in to search the Online Library, you will need to log in to make purchases and download articles. It is therefore highly recommended that you log in before beginning your search.
7. I forgot my login information. What should I do?
Please contact A&WMA Headquarters by e-mail: onlinelibrary@awma.org, or phone: +1-412-904-6018.
8. Why are some books/CDs listed as “for A&WMA members only”?
In addition to publishing our own books and CDs, A&WMA offers a range of environmental titles from other respected publishers for sale through the Online Library. As these titles are offered at below retail price, A&WMA makes them available to members only as a benefit of membership.
Please note: A&WMA does not keep these titles in stock, so orders made through the Online Library are forwarded to the actual publisher(s), which then ships the product(s).
9. Where can I find information on shipping prices and policies?
Please see the Shipping Rates and Policies page for detailed information.
