New Researchers
WELCOME
NEW RESEARCHERS!
The New Researcher Network is designed to enhance networking among
our peers. "New investigators" are people who define themselves
as new researchers: students, postdocs and anyone who considers themselves
a new researcher (broadly intended as someone who finished their degree
less than 10 years ago and is not heading a large research team).
Our aim is to build a network to communicate about ideas and issues
particularly relevant to those in the early stages of their careers,
and to foster communication between new researchers working in different
countries. The New Researcher Network is coordinated by researchers
in their early career stage around the world.
At this year’s
meeting in Pasadena, we’ll have our 3rd workshop and a dinner
that is becoming a tradition! Please check also our website for latest
news: http://www.new-researchers.net/
WORKSHOP
Career Paths and Mentoring in Epidemiology and Exposure Science
Our workshop this
year will be co-organized with the conference’s student program!
The joint workshop and reception for students and new researchers
will be held on Tuesday evening, October 14. The reception will provide
professional and social networking opportunities for attendees.
At our workshop,
a panel of more senior investigators will share their experiences
conducting research, obtaining funding, being mentors and mentees,
etc. in different sectors (industry, academia, research institute,
government). Their comments will help new researchers clarify their
own ideas for future plans.
