As a major contributor of airborne pollutants, including carbon monoxide, particulate matter, nitrogen oxides, and greenhouse gases, the transportation sector is intimately linked to the fate of air quality, in terms of regulations and technological advances. This month, EM features six articles that address current transportation and air quality issues using a variety of approaches, including modeling, monitoring, control, and alternative fuels.
